Although the index of UV rays during Spring is lower than the other seasons, it is more fatal to our skin during Spring because the level of UV rays that causes freckles and spots is the highest. UV rays stimulate melanin cells, which produce skin pigments and causes our skin to become darker. Each Spring, the popularity of skin whitening has been high and cosmetic manufacturers produce various kinds of luxury skin whitening products to meet the targeted consumers’ expectation.
Here are some thoughts related to skin whitening.
1. Whiten Skin Care: Complementary ingredients
Whitening skin products acting as a melanin pigment suppressor usually contain Vitamin C. Vitamin C has a synergized effect when it is combined with Vitamin E contained in elastic cream. On the other hand, Vitamin C is not 100% effective when combined with Retinol-A, often used in anti-wrinkle products. Vitamin C combined with Retinol-A and AHA (usually contained in exfoliating products) may cause dry skin with keratin.
2. Prevention comes First in Skin Whitening
The reason for the popularity of whitening products is because consumers realize prevention is best. I will discuss the cons and pros of whitening in detail in later posts.
3. Never forget to carry suncream
You must try to avoid even one time exposure to UV so its important to try and not forget to carry suncream with you.
Prior to foundation, apply suncream all over your body (including arms and neck). It is better to use real suncream products instead of substituting it for cosmetic products that contain sunblock. Every 2-3 hours, reapply suncream on your body.
4. Skin whitening from within
Did you know that the effect of your skin whitening is 20-40 times better when you consume the right foods rather than using whitening skin products.
Consume foods containing Vitamin C such as strawberries, lemons, tangerines, tomatoes. It is important to maintain your skin internally as well. Vitamin C is recommended to be eaten raw. Vitamin A, B and E are also good for whitening skin.
Keratin that has been ongoing can be easily be removed if the skin cell reproduction is active. Foods containing Vitamin C and Vitamin A such as butter, cheese, milk and green vegetables help this process of removing keratin. Good quality protein and a balanced nutritional diet will be of great help in whitening our skin.
