I personally tend to have frequent skin problems during Spring. Do you experience the same thing? Due to warmer temperatures, stronger UV rays and more pollen and dirt, sebum increases and our skin becomes oily. This is why skin troubles frequently arise during Spring. Our skin loses water from regular outdoor activities and so the outer skin becomes oily and dehydrated. Below are a few issues that we can handle.

Q: Skin too oily and experiencing frequent problems?

A: Sudden temperature increases cause our hormone secretion to become very active. The dirt and pollen in Spring also tends to provide various skin problems and we should remove unnecessary sebum and waste by cleansing and supplementing with water for our dehydrated skin. Our skin is more likely to become sensitive from strong UV rays so it's better to use cleansing water with low irritation chemicals (e.g. alcohol free, seaweed and honey extracts containing moisture balance and Vitamin B5 provides moist, firm and shiny skin) and remove makeup. When washing your face with water, use foam cleansing and apply skin toner promptly to prevent dryness. If you use highly effective astringent (gentle pore minimizing) skin toner, it helps to adjust sebum secretion and reduces the oil on your face as well as preventing further skin problems.

Q: Do you have rough skin even after using many skin products?

A: If your skin is too dry, it is important to maintain moisture balance by applying basic skin care products along with moisturizing essence. If the dryness of your skin is severe, mix essence and lotion at a ratio of 1:1 and apply enough of the mixture on your skin and massage it in. As the mixed lotion is absorbed in the first minute, pat your skin with your fingers for another minute. When putting on makeup, protect your skin by using base makeup products that contain enough moisture and face and body liquids containing plenty of mineral oil.

Q: Does your skin sting after basic skin care?

A: Try applying suncream followed by mild skin care products. Let's assume that I used Lancome products from summer to winter without any problems but some issues arose in spring so I changed to Clinique as a substitution for Lancome. This method of using a milder, light weight product may help balance your skin. And never forget to put on suncream before going out.
