6 Skin Lightening Facial Masks

1. Glycerin Brightening Facial Mask

Glycerin is a humectant, which is a substance that helps retain moisture to your skin.

Ingredients: egg yolk, honey, glycerin

  • Whisk one egg yolk
  • Add one teaspoon of honey
  • Add a teaspoon of glycerin
  • Mix thoroughly
  • Apply evenly on your face and rinse off after two hours

2. Papaya Facial Mask to Brighten

You can use papaya to treat or eliminate old dead skin cells, dandruff and other skin disorders and even to reduce the signs of premature aging.

These characteristics help to make your skin become clearer and lighter.

Ingredients: egg white, papaya, lemon juice, sour cream

  • Beat one egg white
  • Mash about a cup of papaya
  • Add a tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Add two tablespoons of sour cream
  • (Refrigerate before applying to the face)
  • Apply and rinse after an hour

3. Lemon and Lime Brightening Facial Mask

Lemon is full of vitamin C and the citric acid acts to exfoliate skin. Lemon lime is also an astringent and a natural skin brighter.

Ingredients: lemon, lemon leaves, lemon leaves, lime, oat, wheat germ

  • boil a  quarter cup of lemon peel, quarter cup of lime peel, and lemon leaves
  • Steep for five minutes
  • Add a tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Add two tablespoons of oats
  • Add a tablespoon of wheat germ
  • Let it cool and then apply on the face with a cotton ball or wipe
  • Rinse off after 30 minutes

4. Papaya and Honey Brighten Facial Mask

Honey is a great antioxidant ingredient. It helps to protect and revive the skin from tired and sun damage skin. Honey also absorbs impurities from the pores on the skin, making it an ideal cleansing agent.

Ingredients: honey, papaya

  • Mix two tablespoons of honey and half a cup of mashed ripe papaya
  • Apply on face
  • Rinse off after twenty minutes

5. Carrot and Papaya Brightening Facial Mask

Carotene is a component that contributes to the color of the carrot and once it is absorbed into our body, it turns into Vitamin A which adjusts the skin sebum secretion. It also functions to prevent further skin troubles by forming a skin protective membrane to maintain balance for our skin.

Try a carrot facial mask as well.

Ingredients: egg, papaya, carrots

  • Boil carrots until soft
  • Mix egg yolk and 3 tablespoons of mashed papaya
  • Mix 3 tablespoons of cooked and mashed carrots
  • Mix to a thick paste
  • Leave on the face for thirty minutes

6. 5 Minute Carrot Facial Mask

Ingredients: carrot juice, cooked oats, wheat germ, lemon juice

  • Mix half a cup of carrot juice, cooked oats.
  • Add half a cup of wheat germ
  • Add two tablespoons of lemon juice
  • Mix well
  • Apply mask on face for 5 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water
