Pores… Not something people enjoy having. We are always looking for effective ways of reducing pore size.
Enlarged pores lead to uneven lumps on your face, equally uneven makeup and increased breakouts of acne. However, the issue is that once pores have become enlarged, there is no permanent way of reducing your pore size.
Although you hear about opening and closing of pores, this doesn’t mean that pores act like doors where you open the pore door with warm water, wash out the waste and then close the door.
The only way to treat pore size is to minimize the look of them and preventing future pore enlargement.
How to Cleanse and Treat your Pores
Before you go out and buy skin care products to treat pores, try these simple methods.
Use a Facial Mask to Manage Pores
Masks are a great way to treat pores. Facial mask sheets will help to cleanse your pores and remove the waste in your pores. Use a facial mask sheet or some of the best homemade facial recipes to treat visible pores.
Cleanse to Remove Waste
Cleansing your skin is one of the first steps to preventing your pores from getting larger. If you leave the waste and impurities accumulated throughout the day in your pores, what happens is that your pores will increase in order to accommodate more.
Think of it as having a full garbage bin but you keep trying to put more and more in it, except with pores, it will expand.
Try following a double cleansing method to remove the keratin (dead skin cells) and embedded oil.
A good quality bar soap, cleansing foam or cleansing oil should work to remove the clogged pores to help reduce the look of large pores.
Exfoliate to Remove Kertain

exfoliate
Exfoliate your skin in order remove the dead skin cells gathering on your skin. If you have too much dead skin cells accumulating on the surface of your skin, even washing your face may prevent the debris from coming out of the pore because the keratin acts as a barrier.
You could use scrubs but the best exfoliating products are in Asia where the exfoliator contains no granules to scrub and scratch away at your skin. These exfoliator products produce a foam, much like a shaving cream can, which you just massage onto your face. The result is that keratin and waste comes off like grime.
I’m currently in talks with our suppliers and developers to try and bring this exfoliator to the U.S. An exfoliator that works without damaging your skin.
Use a Toner
By applying a toner after you have cleansed or exfoliated, you tighten the surrounding skin tissues which reduces the visibility of clogged and enlarged pores.
A simple homemade toner recipe such as this rosemary and lemon juice should work great.
Moisturize your Skin
A myth is that lotions and moisturizers will clog your pores. In fact, keep your skin moisturized and well balanced and your skin is less likely to produce natural oil.
If you want to care for oily skin, then try applying moisturizer as well.
Steam Towels
Get a small hand towel, soak it in water, wring out the excess water and then pop it in the microwave for a few minutes until it is nice and warm, yet steamy.
Place it on your face to open up those pores and remove the waste.
Reduce Pores Yourself at Home
There is no special magic formula to reduce pores. Enlarge pores cannot shrink but you can help it look smaller by following the methods mentioned above.
