How to Cleanse Your Face for Dry and Oily Skin

Facial cleansing isn’t the same for everyone. How you cleanse your face is dependent on your skin type.

Beauty. What image does this single word bring up in your mind?

Would it be safe for me to assume that you are thinking of some gorgeous model all glamored up? Or maybe it’s simply a portrait of a very beautiful face. Whatever the image, I would bet that the word beauty didn’t summon up a picture of a person removing makeup and cleansing their face.

As much as makeup and cosmetics can make you beautiful, it isn’t as important as actually removing it. You’ve seen the photos of celebrities without makeup. The difference is quite a shock.

Removing makeup is more important than applying makeup.

If you are negligent in removing makeup, your skin will become dull in a few days. This will then affect the way you apply makeup as it will make it difficult to get that glossy and shiny glow.

So let’s go through some how to’s on facial cleansing methods based on your skin type for clear and clean skin.

Face Cleansing Method For Dry and Oily Skin

Oily Skin

Due to excessive sebum and sweat secretions, oily skin requires more delicate washing and cleansing because dirt and impurities are more easily attached to oily skin.

How to Cleanse Your Face for Oily Skin

  1. Remove makeup using oil free cleansing products to remove sebum and makeup.
  2. Using a foam cleanser, wash your face thoroughly.
  3. Deep cleansing is required using exfoliator only 1-2 times a week. You can also perform double cleansing if you desire as oily skin tends to become less dry.

Dry Skin

For dry and dehydrated skin, keratin will easily appear on your skin. Dry skin can be sensitive and fine wrinkles appear when the skin is too tight.

How to Cleanse Your Face for Dry Skin

  1. Use a non-irritating and smooth cleansing lotion to remove makeup.
  2. Use a gel style foam cleanser to wash your face with warm water.
  3. Then splash cold water on your face 4-5 times in order to maintain skin elasticity and moisture.
  4. After washing your face, provide your skin with moisture with your favorite toner and essence.

Eliminating Keratin using Exfoliator

  1. After removing eye makeup, gently rub your face using a cleansing lotion or cream and wipe off with tissue.
  2. Wash off using a foam cleanser
  3. By using a less irritant exfoliator, you can exfoliate your face and prevent from accumulating keratin and wastes in pores.

Tips to Maximize Cleansing Effects

  1. Cold water has a soothing effect. After washing your face with warm water, splash your face with cold water to shrink pores and to increase elasticity.
  2. Lukewarm water is good for washing your hands and sweaty parts of the body. However, it is not good for removing keratin.
  3. Warmer water is good for cleansing. Warm, but not hot, water is good for washing, blood circulation and removing keratin.
  4. Hot water must be avoided for sensitive skin. Although hot water is very good for cleansing and removing keratin, it can decrease your skin elasticity so if you do wash with hot water, follow up with cold water.
  5. A steamed towel by soaking a towel in hot water or heating a wet towel in the microwave, is good for removing keratin and just before deep cleansing. But be aware that if you use it too often, capillaries can be enlarged.
