Thanks to living in a world flooded with information, it's so easy to find information on the internet. However, as the amount of available information increases exponentially, so too does the amount of incorrect or misleading information. This is so true for facial skin care as well.
Most women are concerned with removing wrinkles on their face and books on facial exercises are now available that proudly tout their exercises as "proven" to remove wrinkles. But does it?
Advocates of "Facial Exercises" say that...
- If you pull up the brown bone area with your fingertips, it will lift the skin around your eyes.
- If you follow several facial motions as demonstrated in certain books (I won't go over details on which exercises), your facial muscle will be firm which reduces wrinkles.
- It promotes tighter muscle tone and blood circulation.
- 30 minutes of daily facial exercises will lead to an increase in the production of collagen elastin, smaller pores and well distributed oils.
- These exercises are easy to follow at no cost.
The list goes on but I've only listed the common rationales.
Facial Care Experts Say...
- Our facial muscles don't act like other muscles in our body. Facial muscles don't react to movements by becoming firmer or growing bigger.
- If these exercises did work, wrinkles would disappear from daily facial expressions such as blinking, squinting, frowning, smiling, yawning, chewing, talking or even singing.
- Instead, facial exercises will increase wrinkles. Dermatologists say that it could deepen existing lines by forcing the face into unnatural expressions. Think about it, don't wrinkles appear from repeated movements of facial muscle?
Suggestions from the Facial Care Experts
Avoid squintting, vigrous scrubbing, sipping through a straw and leaning on your cheek or chin with your hand.
So what is your opinion? Are facial exercises an effective way of removing wrinkles or isn't it? I personally don't believe it works.
